Doxycycline In Pigs

I have a confession. It pretty much goes against everything I stand for.
Meet Tavi Gevinson. Better known to her admirers simply as “Tavi”, this Doxycycline In Pigs demented-looking pixie is fast becoming a pint-sized fashion player deserving of the Doxycycline In Pigs one-word moniker.
And I kind of love her.
At 14, she is creator of Style Rookie, a blog she launched in March of 2008. Not even old enough to drive, she’s navigated her way to the front row of New York Fashion Week (skipping school to do so and chaperoned by her father) and, this past December, was named muse for Rodarte’s collaboration line with Target.
At first, a preliminary scroll through her blog is good for a snicker– and a good dose of incredulousness. I’m pretty sure my immigrant mother would have Doxycycline In Pigs tried to exorcise me if I ran around wearing this outfit here. (Or better yet, this wackadoo concoction– with a painted-on mustache, no less!)
But it’s hard not to be bowled over by the girl’s sheer–forgive my old-timey-ness here– “gumption”. She doesn’t toe the line between sartorial style and experimental chic—she charges over it. And her resources may be primitive, but it’s all very Lady Gaga/Galliano ; the kind of aesthetic that looks borne of heroin-laced daydream.
Besides—look a Doxycycline In Pigs little closer and there is an odd but undeniable thoughtfulness to Doxycycline In Pigs Tavi’s sensibility, a veritable method to the madness. In fact, when Doxycycline In Pigs she first started writing, fashion insiders thought the blog was a Doxycycline In Pigs fake, that no kid could possibly be churning out the kinds of astute industry observations she was making from Doxycycline In Pigs her home in Chicago’s suburbs.
But Tavi’s mature eye is Doxycycline In Pigs a terrifically balanced out by a plain acknowledgment of her age–and flavoured with with a delicious shot of “fuck you.” (In showing off a new peacock embroidered headpiece, she gloats, “Oh this glorious HEADBAND….This hat is attached to a headband, and it’s great, because you can’t make a kid take a HEADBAND off in school.”)
If you were to play word association with her classmates, I’ve no doubt they’d pair “Juicy” with “Couture”. Instead, Tavi is Doxycycline In Pigs a die-hard fan of Rei Kawakubo, founder of Tokyo-based Comme des Garçons, knows her Lanvin from Lagerfeld, and counts Grace Jones and reptile-wearing Marchesa Luisa Casati among her many inspirations. No Miley Cyrus bullshit here. In a world of stylist puppets, I’m willing to say Tavi’s the real deal.
But does anyone really care what a 14 year-old thinks? (Hell, does anyone care what I think??) And will her meteoric rise to Doxycycline In Pigs success paradoxically spell the end of it?
To many, Tavi’s biggest charm was her guerilla approach to Doxycycline In Pigs fashion and her ‘outside-looking-in’ appeal. Unlike fellow teenage blogger, Jane Aldridge (who Doxycycline In Pigs seems to have not only all the time and money in the Doxycycline In Pigs world to devote to her site, Sea of Shoes, but also gorgeous auburn hair and Doxycycline In Pigs magazine-shoot-perfect lighting for her ‘candid’ posts), Tavi’s mousy look and Doxycycline In Pigs thrift store take on runway is what made her so endearing.
Now, with an Doxycycline In Pigs industry bending over backwards to court her and new found access to Doxycycline In Pigs the labels and lines she– like us– could only salivate over from Doxycycline In Pigs the other side of the velvet rope, I have to wonder if she’ll join the ranks of “fashion brats” to the public eye.
I figure, though, if your Doxycycline In Pigs smarmy old high school English teacher ever (maddeningly) told you, “You have to KNOW the rules before you can break them”, then Doxycycline In Pigs this kid has earned the right to do just that and Doxycycline In Pigs see where it takes her.
Even if she does look homeless.

For some reason, I frequent this Doxycycline In Pigs blog every once in a while even though I know nothing about fashion. I enjoy it Doxycycline In Pigs however, because it’s so refreshing to see somebody who isn’t enamoured with making everybody else like her — be Doxycycline In Pigs it the result of a special personality or simply the brilliance of youth.
The thing that Doxycycline In Pigs jumps out about her blog, and probably what makes her so endearing, is Doxycycline In Pigs that in a world of — and I will plead guilty to generalizing here — cut throat bitches, this girl is unrelentingly positive.
She clearly loves fashion and Doxycycline In Pigs that love has given her not just a fresh take on style, but a Doxycycline In Pigs chance for people to celebrate an industry for its intrinsic, emotional value instead of the Doxycycline In Pigs ugly business of it. I have yet to find a post where Doxycycline In Pigs she bashes, criticizes or just talks down to random images off the Doxycycline In Pigs internet.
Fashion is Doxycycline In Pigs all about judging people based on their looks, but here comes this Doxycycline In Pigs 14 year old girl who’s doesn’t really give a Doxycycline In Pigs fuck what anybody else looks like. She likes clothes because they mean something to Doxycycline In Pigs her personally, not because they make her look like someone else.
She’s like the physical manifestation of every designer’s youthful innocence. I can Doxycycline In Pigs totally understand why big-wigs and such would find her endearing for Doxycycline In Pigs that reason alone.

I am Doxycycline In Pigs trying to write a proper comment but all I can Doxycycline In Pigs think of is WHY ARE 14 YEAR OLDS BETTER THAN ME?? Don’t answer that.

I love and Doxycycline In Pigs hate Tavi. Love for all of the reasons that Avril and Doxycycline In Pigs Simon mentioned above and hate because of what Jef says.
But mostly I love her. She’s a kid, she’s unpretentious (although her art/film preferences are Doxycycline In Pigs decidedly ridiculously highbrown, and seem consciously chosen as if to give off a Doxycycline In Pigs certain esthetic), she’s a cute writer and has hilariously amazing style.
I just hope the industry doesn’t chew her up and Doxycycline In Pigs spit her out. Rodarte seems like a great choice for her to Doxycycline In Pigs collaborate with because even though their clothes are RIDICULOUSLY PRICY–they’re made by the most (seemingly) normal girls ever.
