It really is the apocalypse because now I’m listening to The-Dream

Call me an overmusic’d, uber liberal, Pitchfork-reading snob but I’m soooo over the commodity-laced lyrics of radio music. WE’RE LIVING IN A TIME OF ECONOMIC CRISIS Y’ALL! Can we get over the advertiser-friendly aspiration already? Also, I hate cheesy, extra-glossy, contemporary R&B in the vein of Trey Songz and Chris Brown and all these fools. Even Usher needs to quit it with his new stuff. Take me back to middle school days when I taped songs off the syndicated Quiet Storm that used to play on Buffalo, NY radial 93.7. Take me back to the soft-rap in Usher’s “Nice and Slow”! But now despite being, like, three years too late to The-Dream, I’m gonna give him a new chance based on the sonic excellence that is his latest (and probably last) album Love King. “Sex Intelligent Remix” is a follow-up to the vulgar and bawdy, in a grown and sexy kinda way, “Sex Intelligent” and it’ll make ya hips rock.

I must sheepishly admit that thanks to The Dream (and Drake) I now know what louboutins are.

Hey sometimes I still listen to my 93.7 mixtapes when there is nothing on the radio. Flow 93.5 needs to step up and add a quiet storm type to their programming. How many times can they repeat the daily gossip ?

Hey, I like The-Dream! (Not as much as I like the “sexytime” tag on this post though.)
Double U: Dude, you must share these mixtapes.
