Life is Good

And by life, I mean September. And by September, I actually just means movies coming out in September. Not even all movies, just a couple really. Two to be exact. But still … they are pretty damn awesome, unlike my writing abilities.
Guess what opens tonight? Machete! That’s right, Robert Rodriguez’s mexsploitation (is this his fourth now?) starring his cast of regulars (Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Danny Trejo and I’m sure at least a few of his family members), as well as a few surprises (Robert DeNiro, Lindsay Lohan and the always unintentionally hilarious Steven friggin Seagul). The question is, will Antonio Banderas show up and kill anyone with a guitar? Will Enrique Iglesias’ mole make an appearance? There is only one way to find out, and why wouldn’t you? A machete-off between Seagul and Trejo!
Also, is it just me, or does this movie not scream Made for the Drive in?
But if that wasn’t good enough for you, guess what else is coming to Toronto this month (sorry rest of Canada)? The sequel to the brilliant Canadiansploitation mockumentary, Fubar, Fubar II. I know I mentioned this before, but seriously, could September cinema get any more non serious/awesome? No. Is sploitation the new spy thriller? Could be. Are audiences just gettig dumber (ahem, Piranha 3D)? Definitely. And am I just asking a bunch of questions because I’m brain dead from working all week and don’t know what else to say? Maybe!! Sounds like the perfect state to go watch Machete! in.
